if your goin across like a small pond you need paddle tires wide front bald tires and LOTS OF RPMs
and be careful of bump steer your front tires only touch the water about a 1/3 of the time and also keep your weight centered towards the back and dont shift your weight

so just get a good running start in a high gear goin about 70mph and hope you dont die

my friend has a drag banshee that we hydroplane acroos our small pond all of the time and its a blast

oh one more tip.dont sink or else youll find out what 200cc of water in an engine looks like

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
get in sit down and hold on

my sand box(little saharah)
my shovel(quadzilla)
AND ILL THROW SAND IF I WANT TO!!

wow...I could see someone doing it on a snowmobile because of the larger contact patch the track provides...put with so little actually touching the water I would find it rather difficult to keep a 400# + machine above water...Try it on a shallow end of a lake or something so that way if you do sink it will only be up to say 1/2 to the seat or something

Hey just a few tips to give ya:
1. Don't Lean left or right
2. Go as fast as you can
3. Don't be afraid of the sudden stop thing when your going fast enough it wont happen
4. Keep your weight back but not too much
5. For short skipps you don't need paddles
6. If you get into to it a bit get paddles and mabe invest in a snorkel
7. Have fun

P.S. If you have a trust worthy friend who can ride well with you and you can go fast enough, find a short shallow (about a foot or so deep) and if ya gut the guts go for a tandum skip, I've done it on a pretty much stock TRX 300EX with out much trouble

THE BIG TIP

Go FAST!!!

I like this rule

So, If you're going fast.....but not quite fast enough.......should you be afraid then???

I have skipped over puddles before. If you're going fast enough it barely even makes a splash. If you don't it's a pretty sudden slowdown.

The guy who hopes you sink is a d!ck. I just hope you try it, sink or skip. If you go for it, please videotape it so we can all share in your fun (or misery).
