Default best exhaust for 230

hey lt230racer is that $280 pipe is it worth that much cuz i didnt really wanna spend to much money but if its worth it n adds some hp then im gettin it. Also in my other question about how i think my carb needs to get rebuilt u said i should do the cam and spring thing also u said i should regear it. What is a cam n a spring n wher can i get them also how should i gear it diffrent so that it has less accelertion n more top end? if i did do tha i would only change it a little beacuse i still want to be able to start off fast.

for starters, by a new chain and front sprocket(13tooth) this will cost u around 55 dollars w/shipping. that will give u more top end. if that is not enough. go with the 36 rear sprocket too. cam controls lift of the valves(timing) getting a cam is the one of the biggest improvementsget it from Ronnies and it is 105.00$ w/ and 80$ core charge. the springs can be purchesed there too. the spring must be replaced so they can handle the new cam. Also first and foremost, get a k+n air filter and a prefilter, then take the lid off the airbox. then you will need to rejet.the supertrapp pipe has and adjustable disc sys. so you can adjust noise&power.

i already have a k&n air filter n i drilled some holes in the air box n took off the lid. What about jus gettin a cam w/core n the n skip the exhaust cuz im speindin my own money n i only make bout $6 n hour my parents aint payin fer nething but if i do need the supertrapp then i'll buy it. Are all cams the same or do i have to have a certin one or is ther better brands then others. Also i gotta buy a core whats that n what does it do.I dont kno yet if i wanna gear it diffrent cuz i dont wanna lose ne accleration actually i want more so i can do wheelies without poping the cluch cuz im only 115 pounds. So basically my questions are do i need the exhaust or can i skip it n about the cam n core is ther a certin one i should get or are they all the same? thanks...

wut i mean about the 80$ core charge is u have to turn in ur old cam or pay 80 bucks. the pipe would be the easiest thing to do cuz you have to pull the motor to put the can in. hope this helps. i only make 6 bucks an hour too but only in october, rest of the year i just mow lawns and stuff & my parents dont pay for anything.just get the regular "all around" cam, but you also have to buy the springs-70$. any other ? just ask!

Well right now im tryin to find someone who will rebuild my carb n check over the whole motor to c if everything is workin like its suppose to which wont cost tha much so after tha im prolly ill buy the cam (which is no problem puttin in cuz my cuzin n unlce have banshees n can take apart the motors n put them back together easily so i kno they can do it for me.After that if im still behind the 300 then i guess ill jus give up beacuse i dont wanna dump all my money into this quad cuz i wanna save my money for a ltz 400...I got like 500 saved up right now which is the money im prolly gonna spend on the quad sport so hoperfully with 500 i can buy the pipe, the cam,the springs n get it looked at.

any pipe/muffler would be an improvment over stock... I replaced a supertrap slip-on because it was just too loud for me...I got a DG alloy w/pipe off E-Bay for $75 brand new...Love it... There is a Cobra setup on there now going for around $65 at this time... A cam and jet kit will give you a more noticable boost in hp ...
