It's a little less than a half inch longer..other than that it's a direct bolt in..got it cheap off of eBay

Hey how the he!! can i get one of them westcoast swingarms?, i've tried everything to look for them... andi know it cant be jsut a one of a kind...

Default Your 230??

I have to ask you guys a honest question, WAS it worth putting all that money into your LT230's??? The reason I ask is, I built one for my wife, all pretty much stock, and it is slow as he!!. My ATC 200x would smoke it and not even try. What are the best mods to do to this engine to bring it to life, I understand exhaust, piston, ect, BUT I mean cam wise ect........Thanks!

if you really want to wake up the 230, here's what you gotta do.

split the cases and have the bottom end checked out and put new crank bearings in.
punch the cylinder 80 over and get a wiseco racing piston.
port the head, esp. the intake side needs to be heavily modified. this will make the difference between a good motor and a great motor.
Webcam stage 1 cam & multi-angle valve grind.
32mm carb w/ clamp-on air filter

my builder says i should have no problem beating stock 350's.

is it worth it? for most people probably no. i'm having a blast and that's all that matters. if i can hand a kid on his new 350 his a$$ it'll just be sweeter!

Won't you get it hot as he!! at 80 over? There cant be much cylinder left! Is there a stroker kit for the 230? Or another jug combo?

i s'pose if you were racing mx or harescrambles, yeah it would prolly run hot but for trail riding it'll run fine.
Bubba, good luck on your search for another Westcoast swingarm. they got out of atv aftermarket parts back in the late 80's. i have a feeling they didn't make a lot of them either.

I got pics now, but my wheels got damaged by putting them on the tires, seat cover, and left side engine cover, then i will take better quality pics... tell me what ya think?

Nice original color scheme. Where you going to get foam for your seat or are you going to shape it yourself? I put a nice cover on mine but my foam is pretty shot. I wish DG still made their front bumper, they look hot on the 230's.

I have a DG Excellerator pipe on mine, a K&N filter, opern airbox, jet kit, and soon a Fourstroke Tech 265cc big bore kit. i wanna get one of those PRM baja bumpers too... they look pretty sweet. I'm probably gonna get extended A-Arms and Works shocks in a another year or so... Gotta save some money first though lol. Anyone one know how to resize pics on ur comp. so you can put them up on here? I tried posting some pics but it said they were too big or somethin.
