Does anyone know why my LT won't run.
I have a 1987 LT250R and need some advice on why it won't run. I had it running perfect then all of the sudden it just quit, but isn't blown up. First i figured the reeds, so i replaced them, then i had the carb cleaned and checked out. After that i found that it is getting fuel and has a spark. An ATV repair specialist told me it is either the coil or stator or it doesn't have enough compression. Anyone have any comments or advice for me.
Thinking of selling it. Message me or you can use my AIM screename. Payed 2,500 with close to 800 dollars invested. $2,500 if anyone is interested.

Hondabeater, what a waste of your time and his. Post something constructive or dont post at all. I hope your Yami breaks and people jerk you around when you need help.
As for your problem, if you own a service manua, I *believe* it gives the resistance specs for the electrical components, give em a shot with the old ohm-meter and see what you find. Im not 100% on this so i may be wrong.
Sorry if I cant be of more help.

I can't imagine you wanting to sell your quad just because of a technical difficulty... Do some testing and figure out whats going on with it.
a motor needs essentially 4 things to run.
Fuel
Ignition source (Spark) induced at the correct time
Air
and a compatible environment to sustain combustion (Sufficient compression)
If you've already verified spark and fuel... air is a 'no-brainer' unless a rag or somethings still in place from a recent disassembly.
Borrow a compression gage and check it...
Let us know what you find out?
Good luck!

Duneaddict,
thanks for the advice, but another reason i'm selling it is because all i have is problems with it. It's an awesome quad when it's running right, but it has parts from 3 different quads on it so whenever something breaks i have to take the parts with me and see if the parts shop has something to work on it.
