I have the chance to buy an 85' Lt250R. It has a new ct racing engine in it. I was also told it has new a-arms and a new aftermarket swingarm that was standard lenght but was stronger. It may have a few other new things not for sure though. The only problem is that it doesnt have tires/wheels, an exhaust, and plastic. Everything else is there. Is this worth it for $500.00? I cant look at it because its in another state right now so I would be having to take a gamble but I somewhat know this guy and he says he is telling me the truth and woudl be willing to deliver to me. Let me know if this is worth it.
thanks

Well, I bought my LT for $1450. I bought new plastic, seat cover, tires and rims, and it came out to around $800. And you need exhaust, so add a couple hundred. Sound like your getting a quad for %1500-$1700. Not a bad deal considering it should look like new when you're done with it.

tha is a great deal for the price if it is in good condition. You would most likely get a differant pipe and slincer than stock. New plastic makes it look like new.

I'm not so impressed. Sounds like it's hammered. You'll never know how "new" that rebuilt was until you open it up and look at the wear. If there are little pieces missing, this bike could nickle & dime you to death. I paid $600 for my Lt250R (complete and running), and I don't think I got that great of a deal.

Spend alittle more money and get something you know works.
