Default LT250R carb questions

Hi all, I have the oppurtunity to replace my 85 32mm carb with an 87 34mm carb. What would the advantages / disadvantages be for running the bigger carb? Any one know the difference between the two carbs, other than size? I am running a UNI and FMF Fatty, if that helps at all.

Suzuki switched to a 34mm carb in 86, but they also changed the cylinder porting. You should still see some power gains, though.

I agree, especially since you have an aftermarket pipe and filter. The midrange and top end should improve a bit. You shouldnt have any mount up problems either.

Liek bubba said you porbbaly wont have any problems, but if you do heat the end of both boots and the carb will slid right on. You can heat it up with a heat gun (blow drier) or put it in some hott water.

good luck

You shouldnt have to do any heating. I think the body was the same, just smaller bore. Either way 2mm shouldnt be too bad. Going from a 34 to a 38, that was a tight fit. Anyways, you will be glad to put the 34mm on.

Just a quick eyeballing, but the bodies do look the same. I know there is a difference between the two internally, probably just a different style slide. Thanks for all the replies
