Recently my quadracer has started to develop a small coolant leak coming from the small hole under the waterpump on the right side of the quad. Is this the waterpump mechanical seal? How involved is replacing this? Can I just pop off the water pump cover and access this part or does it require removing the case side? any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If it is a small leak, try the Bar or Bars Leak stopper stuff. The Clymer manul says to add it to your coolant every time you change it. Run if for a while after you add it. It worked like a charm for us, and is definitley worth trying before you dig into the water pump.

 

Yes you can get at everything by taking off the waterpump, its not just a cover its the whole unit. Also, its the called a weep hole, and its there to tell you the seal is gone.

No bars leak.

Fix it right. Replace the seal.

 

Like I said, the Clymer says so..... We haven't touched it in a season and a half of racing.....
