i have a new vinson 500 auto, i noticed under the seat near air filter box that theres a small black tubing line that comes from the carb thru filter box and just kinda hangs over a lip near gas tank but isnt connected to anything, what is this? and is that the way it should be? didnt see anything that looked like i could hook this line up too it. engine runs fine, seems to have negative pressure in this line as well.

I noticed the exact same thing this weekend after washing mine. I have no idea what it is for or what it does but everything runs fine. Nice to know that I am not the only one who noticed this.

 

Sounds like your everyday carb vent.

You might want to check it every once in a while. On my old Polaris, they hung it over the frame, and onto the exhaust. Bike started running like snot. I finally saw that the vent line was melted shut. I cut the tip off, and wallah. Ran like it should.

 

yeah when its running and you hold your thumb over it its starts to bog down.
