I have a friend who currently owns an old suzuki, he is looking to buy a small utility quad, he is think about the Recon, but insists on his zukes, he will be using it for recreational riding, and some utility work. Please help!

I'd recommend the Suzuki. It's got a better suspension system, 2-speed subtransmission, and is more user friendly. I rode a friend's Recon recently and while it is a good machine, the ride seemed rough compared to my Suzuki King Quad (which shares the same suspension design with the 2 or 4wd 250s), and engaging reverse was a bit awkward, unlike the Suzuki. Reliability is also one of Suzuki's strong points.
