Question about those "QUADZILLAS"
#41
I've been told around $400 if I pull the engine out. Keep in mind you SHOULD check out the bottom end and replace other components while the motor is torn down so it may cost you a few hundred more at the end of the day.
Vito's doesn't do any Zilla work anymore as i was told. Just Banshees and Blasters.
The problem with Suzuki's design is the motor is aluminum and the reciprocating mass (i.e. frickin huge piston), will shake bearings loose from the aluminum cases eventually. That's why Zilla's arent high RPM screamers but still are pretty powerful. Yamaha had a better approach with the Banshee because not only is the reciprocating mass split (i.e. two pistons), their offset as well. A two piston 1,000cc Zilla would be better balanced but would probably need steel cases. What a ride that would be!

go with a zilla, i got one back in october and i hadnt ever sat on a quad let alone ridden one
problem is ive nothing to judge it against so its going into the shop on monday for a full mac dizzy style engine job
it starts first or second kick every time and its cold over here in The UK
ive sunk about 4500-5000 dollars into it since i got it but thats just add ons seems reliable enough to me for a 13 year old monster kick, twist and hold tight,

I kind of agree with pushin the limit, but it's kind of like the dales. One won't have a problem in the world, and the next will break down every ride (my dad, who kept up total maintenence on the 500). At the time, I was too small to even try to kick it, but if it's anything like a our cr500 was, ****, watch out. You can get a cannible dale for 3000 easy. Very nice machines, try looking around cannondalerider.com, and see what you think about them. As much maintenence as the lt500, but much better handling, etc. Have you thought about any of the newer 4 strokes, remember to keep an open mind, you're not getting a problem free ex here. Well, you guys can start picking me apart for that one. But I still say some are perfect, some are hell.

I don't have the cash for 1 6K YFZ. 4 Strokes are slow for what they cost, if it's not the LT, it's sure gonna be the R and nothing is going to make me change my mind about a R
