Question about those "QUADZILLAS"
#52
Gotmuddy - the LT250 was powervalved in 87 thru 92. I think the LT250 of those years could produce as much power or more than any equally modded TRX250R while having a better powerband due to the powervalve. Frame-wise the TRX is better.

I'm in the bad forum to ask what would be better between a TRX250R and a LT250R
Anyway, if I pay 4000$, it won't be for the suzuki

No Honda sport don't give up,if my 120lb. ex-girlfriend can start mine then you can too,you have to be shown the compression stroke and it will start with no more then 3 kick's. Ofcourse that was with her kicking it over.

OK thanks, but I'm still worried about the reliability, 50% of the people seems to say that they are Piece of Crap. I don't mind about rebuilding the top pend twice a year but I don't want to play too much in the trans and bottom end since it can get really expensive in no time.

Ok, I said this once before but here goes.
The LT500r's "reliability" issues stem from bikes that are modified by guys who didn't have a clue.
A stock ported Zilla (88 thru 90 models) has no weak points beyond the crank bearing issues.
My first was a brand new 89 model. I rode that bike for almost 3 years, never touched the motor other than changing case oil and a spark plug once in a while. Nothing else on the bike ever broke, period. I even tried to mx it for a while.
My current bike is also an 89, after I took care of the items caused by the previous owner and normal wear, its never broke anything after two years of riding.
My only negative advice on a zilla is this, if you are looking at an 87 model that is more or less original they have a small list of things that need adressed.
Oh, one more thing, if you want to be in the front of pack, ride a Zilla. If you like being last, buy something else!
