89 quad runner or sport
#2
I have a 86 LT 230 S Quadsport and a 88 LT 250 R Quadracer and both are great quads.
When I got them they both needed some work
but they both run great. The 250 is super fast it has a kick start and manual clutch and the 230 has electric start and an automatic clutch. I have seen these quads in classified ads for anywhere between $1000 to $1800. I didn't give that much for either one of mine but I had to do some work to both. I gave $200 for the 230 it needed a rear axle housing $75 used, a new battery and needs rear fenders and I cleaned the carb. I traded a 83 Honda 200E 3 wheeler for the 250 it needs brake work and back fenders and someone has painted the rest of the quad (fenders and wheels) with dark blue spray paint and I had to clean the carb on it before it would run. My 14 year old son and I have a great time riding together he likes to ride the 250 because it's faster but I guess I was the same way at 14 hell I'm that way now at 38.

Hi ACLA,
I've owned 2 Suzuki Quadrunner LT230's, one was a 1986 and the other is a 1990. However I have never owned or ridden a quadsport so I can't tell you anything about them.
The Quadrunner is a great machine. It is extremely reliable and will run forever. They have electric start and start every time. They last for years. They are also extremely comfortable, you can ride one all day long and not get tired. It is supposedly a sport oriented machine but it is not at all sporty. It is actually very slow. I usually get beat by every quad I'm riding with. That is mainly due to the automatic clutch, becuase every time you shift gears you have to let off the throttle which lowers rpms and slows the machine down. If it had a manual clutch I think the quadrunner would be much more aggressive simply because you could keep rpm's up.
However it is light and easy to ride. You can move through trails quickly and it can handle some medium jumps but on bigger ones will always bottom out.
If your looking for something to learn on or just cruise around on, then the quadrunner is great. Whereas if you're looking for something a bit sportier, I'd say check out the quadsport or something more high performance.
