hi all don here i have a 04 eiger 400 4x4 auto what is the average mpg per tank? changed the plug an redid the air cleaner i was geting 28 35 per tank but now i get 14-23 per tank 4gal tank

 

Seems kinda low. I do 30-40 mile rides all the time and only use 1/2 a tank, if that.

 

I average around 25mpg. Have about 400 miles on it so far. I try to reset the trip meter when the tank is full. Because it only has a 100 mile range, I will be getting a 5 gallon flat gas tank which straps on the rack to double my range. Late.

Hi Don,
That seems very bad to me. I get about 20-25 mpg mostly trail riding. Maybe check out your carb something is letting a lot of fuel in the engine. Also check your oil and make sure there is no gas in it. Something is not right with your quad. Unless you are always driving uphill.

don here thanks i will check the oil for gas but i still need to new how and where on the carb to readjust the carb gas mix can't find it on the carb

 

Hi Don,
On the bottom of the carb there is the idle mixture screw. This will only control the mixture at idle. You main jet, needle, air filter (and box), and exhaust control your fuel mixture at top and mid range. Another thing to look at is the float level in the carb if it is to high this will alow gas to flow all the time.
