Default eiger problems

I went out and started riding the eiger today and had a few problems. I filled it up with gas the other day and it runs fine with the choke on but if you take the choke off it will run rough, backfire, and die. It will run with the choke on but will miss here and there. I drained the gas out of the tank and went to the store and got new 93 octane and put a new plug in also but it still does it. Anyone know what may be wrong. I thought there may be something in the carb. What do you all think.

Sounds like your pilot jet has a blockage, the jet has a very tiny hole, that runs thru it, and easily plugs up.Try carb cleaner, and compressed air to clean it out. Sometimes it takes a very small soft(copper) wire to push it out.

this article may help

Definitely clean the carb (I had crap in there from the factory). I would suggest an inline fuel filter too.

Mikee2, unfortunately this is the Eigers biggest stumbling block. When new they all seem to do this. Plastic in the tank somehow gumms up the works and you have the trouble you are having now. The solution is simple. Clean your entire fuel system and jets, install an in line fuel filter. Go ride with pride!!!!

PS since you are prolly a new Eiger owner, I would suggest a service manual, and a bunch of those little rivets that hold your plastics together (about a $1 cheaper for the Honda version).
