i had an 86lt230 and it was a mean little bike!10.5 piston, white bros. cam,roost boost (ha ha),pipe, open box,down 1 tooth on front, spider tracks,5th gear wheelies,(sometimes) ah .....the good ole days! [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

i might be pickin up a QS with a 300 somethin cc big bore and some other stuff. what kind of performance could i expect from that? my friend had one a few years back and it seemed really peppy for a 230. also i have been wondering is it SOHC or is it a pushrod engine? i'm pretty sure its not DOHC. also how many valves? thanks

 

Its a SOHC. I'd be leary of a 300 top end on a 230. The weak part of a 230 motor is the c rank/bearings. I don't know if adding rotating mass would be a good idea.
