Default eiger fuel filter

I've seen alot of talk about a fuel filter for eiger's. It sounds like a good idea on any quad. I'm going by the dealer tomorrow so i think i'll pick one up. Where's the best place to put it, as far as access goes? Do you need to remove a portion of the hose or can you make it fit without removing any hose? Also when you cut the hose, won't fuel run out? Stupid question i know!

You're kind of limited as to the where, you cut into the line that comes from the tank, but it is pretty easy to access in there. I used a small clamp to pinch off the line so it wouldn't run. You'll still leak a little when you first cut so have a rag ready.

I got a few drips when I cut mine. The manual says that fuel shouldn't run unless the engine running.

Muddy Eiger,
On the fuel line, what is the diameter? Without seeing it I am guessing 5/16???... I know the fuel filter companies make their units with different diameter barbs. Any input would be great.

I do not have the Eiger handy to look but want to buy filter and install this weekend when I get to where it is.

Thanks

Sorry. Don't know off the top of my head. I do remember just telling the guy what I had and he looked it up the first time. Measured it after I got home before cutting the line.

I cut the line that ran from the fuel regulator(**** that says PRI, RES, ON I think) to the carburator. Is this not the right line?

I'm going to the dealer tomorrow morning to pick up part's i ordered and a fuel filter. I'll post the size info when i get back from afternoon ride. Thanks for everybody's input. It seems like the companies should go ahead and include a fuel filter on all bikes.

The line is 5/16" as I suspected it might be. Most are. I purchased the Fram inline fuel filter P/N G3515.
