Default Cant get LT250R to run right

I bought this 1988 LT250R about a month ago. I have the receipts where the motor has just been rebuilt. I cleaned the carb. , put new Mossbager reeds in it, and a new jet. It had a 280 jet in it and I put a 250 in it and it ran a lil better so I put a 220 in it and it still runs like poop. It spits and sputters and backfires. Please HELP. I cant figure this thing out.

How does the plug look.
Make sure your coil is good. If you have a manual, it shows howe to test it.
Are the jets clean.
Does it idle good.
Does it crap out at 1/4, 1/2 or full throttle, or always

Check the air mixture screw, that could be off. Try a 240 jet in and have your air mixture screw 1 1/2 turns out. That is what the clymer manuel says

Default HELP!!!!cant get LT250R to run right

your in luck, i just recently had that problem!!!!! When ever it started, it backfired and sputtered, and eventually died. So i had the help of my dad and we took off the carb. Use carb cleaner, NOT brake cleaner, carb cleaner has oil in it!! So we cleaned it and took out the jets, cleaned the needle in the seet very carefully. We put it back on and screwed up my throttle cable. It still didn't start. So we took it to my suzuki dealership and had them fix it. We just had the regular check up. I still got the ticket, they did the following-Put a new NGK spark plug, gear oil, fixed throttle and got my quad runnin all for a low price for 175.36. I think the only problem was the spark plug, and we didn't claen the carb good enough.

So just go and put a new spark plug, clean your carb very carfully, and throughly and it should run. good luck!!!

175 for 6$ worth of gear oil and 2$ plug , people really need to learn how to work on their own atv's.
