Having trouble with what I thought was the carb
#11
Ok, I tried all that. I tried disconecting the gas line from the carberator. Then I syphoned gas all the way through the system, then I tried sucking for about 10 mins on the vaccum line(I think thats what you meant right?).....Nothing. The gas wasing coming out. So that would have to mean its got to be either the box or the hose right? well the hose is good, no cracks or kinks and when removed can be blown through clearly. So I opend up the box, and it was rusty around one of the seals, do you think water got in to cause the rust which would mean thtat air has to be escaping the seal causing a pressure leak?

Ok, now I tried getting some sealer and sealing the gasket so that there would be no leaks. Still nothing, Im getting very irritated with this thing.Starts up every time that I put gas in the carb, but dies right after.

Have you tried to suck on the gas line? When I restored my KQ witch has the same system, at first time i tried to start the quad after i´ve got all the gas out from the tank and carb and put new gas, it was hard to get going. No gas was coming to the carb, I started sucking on the gas hose and got it coming. Anyway it helped, got the quad running by doing that. Now I still have a broblen with the idle, when i drive so the engine warms up it won¨t idle after that just dies. But it won´t die when I give it a little throttle or some choke. That tells me that gas is flowing to the carb. In your case i´d try to suck on the fuel line before doing anything else, if that won¨t help you need to go around the gaspump and try it.
Good luck with it!
