Default Eiger knocking

Looks like I'll have to read my newly purchased service manual to see what the clutch looks like in my Eiger.

aksafari, where ya getting that tach? The local tractor guy has one for $55 with an hour meter and a light that comes on every 25 hours for a maintenance reminder.

Eiger2: I ordered a tach with hour meter from www.jackssmallengines.com. It is a redington model 51. You wrap the wire around the spark plug wire and you're done. $40 plus shipping.

I'm going to go with a traditional analog gauge like an Autometer. I don't think a digital tach will be easily read at a glance if you're going fast, which is primarily what I'm interested in. Also, a nice, beautiful tach (backlit, too!) will look good on my inst. pod.

Default Eiger knocking

Has anyone found out anything new on the knocking. My 04 just started knockin this past weekend when we were out bear hunting. Lot of low gear, low speed down and up. By the way my fan does not come on anymore. I replaced the fuse and have ridden it since without it coming on. The wires are still attached/intact and the vent tube for the fan is not kinked. I did displace some plastic on the left side, caught a limb up inside the fender and could not stop before if poped the plastic rivets. Dont know if I might have caught someting I have not found yet.

I took mine to the dealer , they looked at the clutch and case, they said everything was fiine, the knock is normal ( so they say) I get it in rev, or low, and idle. It still does 52 MPH. I am going to change my plug, because it hesitates on the go when cold

Nothing new. Mine just stopped. Don't know what it was, but I think it was related to the throw-out.
