Default Making my z a beast, and I need some help

Ok, first off I will tell you guys what I have. I have a 2003 Z400 that has an alba slip on, K&N air filter with outerwear and I am running the air box with no lid. I have a 155 main jet and I think a 25 pilot, but I am not to sure about the pilot. I also have a 13:41 ratio for teeth on my drive sprockets. I mainly ride dunes and I like to go fast, really fast, but I also ride in the trails around my house.

Basically, I want to make my Z400 a beast. I have done everything I know how to do and Know i need all the help I can get. I have a list of things I think I want to do to it, but I do not know if they would be good or what order I should do them in.

First of all I have been looking at cams, carbs, and cdi boxes. I am not sure how all this works. I know what each do, but I do not know what size carb I should get. Before we go to far I should say that I want to do all I can to make it faster without a 440 or 450 kit, but I want all the stuff I get to work with one of those if I do that at the end. I do not know what carb, cdi box, and cams to get to get the most power. I want to go fast so i can drag race a little, but I want to have good low to mid range power so I can climb all the big dunes with ease.

Another thing I dont know is if I get cams and a cdi box and a carb then what else to I need to change on my z to keep it realiable and how much ill these mods lower my quads reliability. My big question is if I get all three of these then do I need to get better compression and how would that effect my engine. Do I need a bigger piston and what do all these piston ratios and compression ratios mean. Also, what kind of power gains can I expect from these mods.

Any answers will be greatly appreciated.

CDI - doesnt really matter any aftermarket one will raise your rev limiter, there all the same
Hotcams stage 2 is what i would go with for cams
DONT FORGET to get new valve springs for the new cams and increased rev limit, my suggestion is order some springs for a DRZ400, they work very well.
for a carb.... fcr40 is about the best... for a 440 kits, i do not know how it would do on a 400, i would assume it would be much better than stock though do to the accelerator pump the z400 lacks.
get the alba head pipe to go witht hat slip on.
and get a jet kit to rejet
i dont think thers much more to do other than a 440 or soemthing.

thanks for the info. Will the drz400 valve springs go straight on to my z and I heard something in another post about putting the drz gaskets on for better compression. Does that work well too.

I would also add a high compression piston( 12.5:1 )Plus, port and polish the head.
