Can't shift your quad OR your keyboard, eh, iwana400ex? Sorry, couldn't resist; my comment relates to your use of all lower-case letters (preferable to all CAPITAL letters, anyway).
Now, about that clutch. I've been flamed before for a similar post, but: I don't have enough detailed information to offer any constructive advice. Maybe other readers can diagnose your problem from the info you provide.
When you had the case cover off to replace the cable, the clutch release mechanism was visible; you could manipulate it to see if it allowed the clutch discs to separate. If the release mechanism works, and the cable is the proper length, and the steel clutch discs aren't so warped they can't disengage, your problem's not obvious to me.
A service manual, or at least a peek at the exploded parts diagram at your dealer's, might be useful to you. (I realize I'm NOT very useful, maybe another poster will be.) Good luck.

Without being able to see the machine, I cannot give you an accurate diagnosis. Manual clutch's always have a little drag to them. Especially when the oil is not warmed up. Example, before you ride your quad in the morning, if it is in gear and you pull the clutch in it still will not roll. I would suggest that you take the machine out of gear. Adjust the clutch for proper free-play and start it up. Let it get warmed up, and then give it a try. Hope this helps.
