Powervalve disconnect?

Default Powervalve disconnect?

well i took my head off today.seems the rings came apart and got lodged between the piston and cylinder.needs new rings,bore and maby a piston.how do you disconnect the powervalve?also it put a good goudge in the head on the very edge.will that hurt it or do i need a new head?how much can the head be shaved down?

If you mean so you can take the cylinder off.....

Remove the 4 bolts on the inspection window (above water pump)

Use needle nose pliers to unhook the plastic clip-thingy

And pull the rod out of the lever.......

Get a big peice of sandpaper (maybe 180 grit-ish?) and set it on a flat surface and rub the head back and forth acrossed it. That might help take care of your gouge.


I just noticed you had a 250, although it should be the same as the 500......

sand paper wont do it.its a pretty big gouge.check my other post"LT250R SIEZED TODAY,arrr" it has more detail.
