Default Quadracer Tranny Problem

Its a '92.

This is driving me nuts. If I give it in 2nd gear (to say climb a hill) for an extended time, about 15-20 seconds, it jumps out of gear. I bet your thinking shift fork, so read on. It drops into neutral SOMETIMES, the other times right back down into 1st gear. Im begining to think that the shift drum is worn out and not holding it in gear. I replaced all three shift forks about a year and a half ago, if that matters. And neutral is an absolute bitch to find, it jumps right past it and into 1st or 2nd when I try to find neutral when stopping.

Your thoughts ladies and gents....this is a pain in the backside.

the spring holding the shift drum arm gets weak and it will help cause it . also the end of the shift drum has 2 springs and 2 pins in it they also get weak and wore out . check the prawls and the housing for the prawls . this piece can be gotton to by taking the clutch off and the retaining plates that hold the prawl housing on . try that first . they are cheap.
