Hey specialyst.... Did you sell that black 230 on E-bay a week or so ago?..... I know for a fact I saw those pics on e-bay.

 

Yeah i had it up there i dont know whats up with the guy who won tho.so if anybody seen it its still available.

 

Specialyst..........Did you ever go through the carb in that 230? If so I have a question on something?

 

i still got it it has a mine of its own now its now spitting out gas since i fixed my cam so i dont know i gotta find a stock carb.

 

What I don't understand on your is where you said " it had a slight backfire" and the cam was 180 out.........DID it run and had a slight backfire? or while you tryed to start it ? Because it won't (shouldn't) run being 180 out.

 

Incase you could not tell by the above posts I am having one heck of a time getting mine to run! Today I am hooking it up to the back of the lawn tractor and we are going to DRAG it down the street until I can figure out what is going on with it! AND if that does not work I am going to throw it out of an airplane!! SPLAT!!!!!! it will run if the cam is 180 degrees off and yesit would run funny then backfire a lil at high rpms.it will run if the cam is 180 degfees and the compression was crazy now i fixed the cam the compression feels normal.so you might be having the same problem but i dont have a kick start mine is lectric start so all that compression i couldnt push start it i had to use the electric start.but it did run wit the cam off. i think your cam is off

 

Acording to this JUNK book I purchased , there are two horizontal lines that go even with the deck....then there is a dowl that holds on the cam gear, I have that pointed up! (and why are we both showing up as "not on-line"?)

 

did you align the t mark on the flywheel wit the mark on the crankcase???
