Eiger jetting, stock is 122! WAY too lean
#141
Are you referring to the snorkel tube? I probably will put an external snorkel on this and have already ordered 125,130,135 mains, K&N filter. That stock filter sucks(literally, crap right into the carb, I have plugged the main jet twice already in three weeks!), adding inline fuel filter. Debating putting on an aftermarket belt. Trying to find out if the Cat 400 clutch kit will work on the Eiger as I cannot find one that works for the Eiger. Now for mudding, this may not play out to my advantage when hitting the mudholes. Sometimes nice and easy works better and not so hard on the belt.

yeah snorkel tube i didn't want anyone to think i meant an external one since snorkels are getting so popular. a clutch kit makes huge differences on autos i had one on my scrambler 500 but i also had to replace the belt every few hours.. but on something like the eiger i doubt that will be a problem.. the scrambler just had so much power it literally tears itself apart.
with the k&n, save yourself the time and just stick the 135 in i promise itl run fine.
just remember to oil the k&n or it will suck more crap in than your stock one

Simply going to +1 what every single other person in this thread has figured out.
I rejetted using the HMF jet kit (only $25 and comes with 130, 135, and 140 mains) and clipped the spring by about an inch. I installed the 135 main and I have my idle screw turned out about 1.5 turns but there is some slight hesitation before the quad just rips. I still needed to use a little choke it get it going and it was 70* out so there is some adjustment to be made. I need to tinker with it more today and hopefully I can get it worked out. I'll likely do the air box mod as well.
Just for kicks, I may go up to the 140 and clip a little more of the spring and see what happens. I have a carb rebuild kit so if I really mess up the spring, I should be able to put it back to the way it was.
This thread is the best. I can't recommend it enough to people to do these mods. Even with it not tuned quite right, the mods are far better than the factory settings. Feel free to PM me or, if you're in the Southern WI area, I could help you out.

I am so glad you did. I have been working on an Eiger that just falls on it's face from a stop and was going to tinker with the carb. I am glad someone already did the legwork for me. Awesome thread!

Hi Everyone! I'm new to this site I was following this thread from looking up jetting an Eiger on Bing. I read on and on and got a lot of good pointers! I just installed my HMF Penland.. Dayum its loud.. also put in the quiet core and spark arrestor due to I usually take it to the mountains in New Mexico here. But.. I used to have a KFX 450R in 2007 and even though I went utility 4x4 I still love to build, modify and make it better. But with that HMF I got a UNI air filter and HMF jet kit with a 130, 135, and 140. I chose to put in the 130 due to the mountain riding I do, It made a considerable difference. I need to try that clipping the top spring Mod.. I ride a lot with friends and my wife rides on the back, after some photos I noticed the Eiger is a bit of a low rider and lacks in girth in the wheel dept. So I installed a 2 inch high lifter kit ordered some HD rims and 26 inch interco swamp lites.. wow what a face lift! and I really cant wait to try out the performance aspect of it. Stock rims have a narrow offset these tires and rims not only filled out the fenders it made it much more stable. But I just wanted to jump on here and say hello and thanks for the help from me looking in from the outside...til now..
