I am having some problems mounting my new nerf bars on my 1990 lt500. They seem to be too big and not fit right. Anyone else have this problem? Yes i have checked to make sure they are the correct nerf bars. The brackets seem to not fit right and they dont sit flush against the frame. What am I doing wrong its probly something stupid, help me!

 

Hi unabonger, On my 89 I had to mount them on the outside of the footpeg mounts and put spacers on the brake side because the footpeg mounting flange steps out. I also flipped the mounting brackets upside down so the bolts are on the bottom. They stick out a little with stock size axle and tires but are just right with the 2" extentions I have on mine. Make sure you keep the footpegs tight or you'll bent the bolts quick

I got DG's on mine. I don't know if there are other brands available I have had these on a long time.
