Default Wont kick over

Just bought a quad, was running great a couple days ago. Tried to start it yesterday no go. Checked the gas, it was empty. Went out and bought some 2 cycle oil and mixed it 50:1 (was just told today, it should be 40 to one from now on). Still no go. Bought a spark plug and it still wont kick over.

New to the whole ATV thing and am trying to learn how to work on them.

Its a 1986 Suziki 250R

Hey there!
Sounds like some simple things for you to check & correct.
Drain that gas and put the right mix in # 1.
are you using the choke? Most common problem, is your switch in the "ON" position?
or if it's a kill switch is it connected right?
are you getting spark? are you using the proper size plug, maybe run one a size hotter.
Hope this helps you get back on track!

if youe quadracer will not physically kick over i bet your thrust washers on the sides of your piston broke and caused it to lock up. i had two do this already a 85 and a 87 quadracer. it is a common problem.

Well i figured out the problem.... told you i was new to this stuff......
The float was stuck and the night previous i accidentally left the gas on for a few hours.

Took about 20 minutes to get all the gas out of the carb and exhaust it was so flooded.

needar yes i did put them back in and mine are running great. I would be afraid of my bottom bearing wearing without them from side movement.
