a couple of years ago, some 1 had a quadzilla for 5 grand worked to the gills im sorry i didnt ****** it up it was nice. 5000 now seems like nothing for a high performance quad.when is suzi(hint hint) gonna build an efi orbital 2stroke and 1 again blow the doors off every 1.nothing except a banshee could run with big suzi.Im sick of 4x4s and the new 4stoke dirtbike motor dont cut it for me neither,i guess at least it would be a start sighh.

ridzhard, Orbital is the company that makes direct injection efi, aprilia has been fooling around with it so does polaris and Bimota used it on their vdue 500.it injects the gas at high psi directly in the head instead of flowing oil and gas mixture through the intakes and exhaust ports. some how aprilias system does have oil going through the bottom end as bimotas system said clean air just went through it,variation of systems no less. As in a conventional 2 stroke some flow is spit back, hence the reed valve,2strokes fire every every other rotation some of the charge is diluted and sucked out hence the unburmed HC doesn't have time to clean itself out for the next charge.Suppossedly w Direct injection all that is being flown through the ports is fresh clean air or separation of oil and gas being burned.the results 80% less emissions better fuel economy, way better throttle response, although Bimotas had poor fuel mapping a bad glitch in the midrange made 1 20 grand street bike a total flop.I dont know how the bottom end is being lubricated though to prevent seizure, its very new to me seems very high tech, the way of the future and probably obscenely expensive cha ching.Mercury is using them on their outboards, snowmobilers use injection and pc water craft will soon have it.5 years back honda had a system set up called activated radical combustion where it used the spark plug to start it and then the chemical reaction of combustion took over, they also had an efi motor and a combination of the 2,all of a sudden ya just stopped hearing about it all together.Either honda doesnt want any 1 to know about there technology or its financially not feasible.Dirtbike had done the article. Also your right about sport quads butI ment if ya wanted a 2 stroke race bike and had the money for 1 to be built I would see nothing wrong with having 1 built by a fabricator, cause if the factories arent gonna build em who will?Anyway this could be a return of the 2stroke as do ya think the big 5 want to use 4 bangers forever?1 last word on it dirtbike also said they took off the pipe after the tests of honda engine and ran their fingers around of the inside of the flange of the pipe and ports and instead of that sludgy slimy oily carbon it was perfectly clean and or dry carbon as in a 4 stroke. My advice Some 1 build it keep the price down and the masses will come!

Ive heard Ford fooled around with efi 2 strokes and it burned cleaner than there cleanest burning emissions strangling eco loving 4 stroke.Wow,the person who told me this also said it was such a big embarassment for them that they quickly killed it off,and im sure there was other reasons too,Its funny Ford got a 2 stroke to run cleaner than there 4 strokes no they couldntt have that could they now.LOL,The people they are trying to appease would have a coniption over it

OK, Thanks for the detailed info. I know what you are talking about know. I really don't think you are going to see any more 2-strokes as far as ATV's. I agree with you though, if you want a sport machine, you are gonna have to build it yourself/pay someone to do it. I went to Lonestar in Phoenix about 5 months ago and they were building an outlaw Banshee for a guy. When I asked them how much for a ready to go machine, they told me they normally don't do that sort of thing but this guy had more money than sense. He had also dropped off a new Banshee and had them put over 5 grand into it for just Chroming things. That thing looked like it was made out of a mirror! I Know Quad Central in Las Vagas deals in those types of machines, but once again like 15 grand for a Lonestar 250R. No motor work either. I figure, 4 grand on top of my stock 88 250R will get me the machine I consider the best for me.
