Default 250 QuadRacer Rebuild Advice

I'm in a situation where I have to rebuild my 250's top end. To my knowledge the bottom end has never been touched. I can't really feel any play up and down from the connecting rod but it seems to wiggle left and right. I understand that it should slide back and forth from left to right but what I am talking about is not a sliding motion. I plan on porting and polishing the top end so is it best to just spend the extra money to do everything while it's apart?

Yes, cuz if you get the top end done and the bottom end cant hang cuz its wore out then you will have to do it ALL over again if the rod breaks and goes up into the head....

Ok there should be no movment up or down. You will get a slight wiggle going left to right but it should be very slight but there will be just a little bit of play there.
