Default Problems with a newly purchased z 400

I just just got a used 04 z 400 which I bought off of ebay. I just got the thing out and started riding it and it feels real good, but im starting to notice a problem....wonder if anyone knows what this may be?

While the quad is idling in neutral, and with the clutch pulled. If I just quickly push the throttle, not revving it, but just tap it real real quick, it will totally die out..making a wierd noise. It doesnt do it every time, but if i keep tapping the throttle it will die.
This is kind of scary since I just got it..Anyone heard of this?? Any help greatly appreciated...

The only time it should do this is when the bike is first warming up and thats it. If it does while your bike is warmedup and does it than the jetting is probably wrong. My kfx-400 only does it when its first warming up.

Has there been any mods to it? exhaust, air box, or filter?

Depending where you ride, the stock jetting might need to be tweaked a little.
