Default Buying an LT250R, but the decisions..

I will hopefully be buying an LT250R by this weekend, I have two choices though.

The first is a 1988 LT that has been restored from the ground up, new frame, pistons, and a claimed $4000CAN invested.
It is for $3200 CAN or best offer.

The second is a 1990 LT that has every bearing replaced, FMF fatty pipe and stinger, new top end, bear claw tires.
It is for $2995 CAN or best offer.

...Which is better, I think I can get the '88s price down to what the 90 is, my delema is, the 88 is fully restored, and if the guy has recipes to back it up, would it be a better deal?
...any input is good input.. or well mostly.

I'd go with the 90 if the 88 is all stock. You'd just end up dumping another thousand dollars into the 88 to get it where you want it.

I'd go with the 90, you should be able to get him down to 2500 easily and have a few extra $$ to spend on goodies. I think the 90 is a better looking quad than the 88 too.

deffinatly go with the 90...it looks realy fast and some what origional...the 88 looks like it was beat and im not even sure if its an 88 since it has a black hood and the engine isnt blue....but we cant realy see the motor to wel...the 90 is your best bet...id say give him 2700...

Yeah, that is what I was thinking also.

Is the FMF pipe a no-gooder for the LT or what is the advantages of aving a paul turner pipe?
