z250 speed??

My one friend has a Honda 250ex which is basically the same performance wise as a z250. I'm a pretty experienced rider but I must say that the little 250 is a blast to zip around on in the trails. It's very easy to ride and very reliable so I guess what makes it so fun is the fact that you don't have to think about anything else except for how much fun it is to toss it around in tight woods. The thing climbs like a mountain goat too.
I wouldn't mind having one just to take out once in a while and hammer around on it. One nice thing about it is you can ride it hard and put it away wet and not worry about anything except dumping gas into it.

no dude the Z250 is actually pretty fast. put on a new exhaust and jet it, it'll be just as fast as the stock blasters.
edit: it's only a 250 4 stroke but it puts out 17hp it's got plenty of power for you. I can wheelie through 3rd on mine and keep it up. I highly doubt u can do that on a 250ex

But after a pipe and a few other bolt ons the Z-250 is done. And you are stuck with the stock gearing. The Blaster with a good pipe will walk all over a Z-250. And you still have headwork, reeds, big bore kits, whole suspension setups, and a plethera of other modifications you can make. It all depends on what you are looking for. If you want an easy, no hassle, entry level bike to learn on the Z-250 is a good choice. If you want a cheap, peppy bike , that you will occasionally need to do some wrenching on, that can expand as your skills go than a Blaster is hard to beat.

Man Mbrooks420 that was harsh what you said about my post earlier. I was not trying to say that all other choices suck except for the quad that I just happen to have. I was just trying to make a point that the blaster would be a pain to take care of as a begginer quad for someone that is not mechanically inclined. There is alot more for the Z-250 to upgrade than just a pipe. New works shocks front and rear, all the stuff that I am planing on getting eventually and more. Now I am not saying that it beats all the blasters available mods becaus I dont think that any quad has as much available upgrades as the Blaster. I geuss I am just trying to say that I see your points and I wish you would just see mine...

And your post about people an thier stupid advice was all warm and fuzzy, right? You aren't recruiting for Suzuki. Don't take it personal. Give out the info you have and let him decide which atv is best suited for his needs. Works steeler shocks aren't all that. You can get Ohlins or Elka's on A Blaster. You simply cannot mod the Z-250 dollar per hp like the Blaster. With a manual any routine maintanence on a Blaster is simple. And you learn somehting that you can take to your next bike. The Blaster may not be the best bike for him to start on. Maybe it would be. It all depends on what he wants. Underpantsnomes, you need to list all of the things you want from an atv, and the things you don't want. What do you expect from it? How long do you plan to keep it? What kind of performance do you expect?
