Default Starting my LT250R

I purchased a 1985 Suzuki LT250R in December of 2003. This quad is in immaculate shape and has run like a champ. The only problem is that I can't start the darn thing. I have heard that the 85 Quadracers are just that way but I'm wondering if there is anything I can try. Does anyone else have the same problem?

Try pull starting it...maybe spray some engine starting fluid inside the carb

Well,i have a 91 banshee that wont start the first time unless you roll start it. I would say first off, make sure your airfilter is properly installed and clean.Make sure your using the right spark plug and that its in good condition and properly gapped. other than that make sure the air screw on the carb is properly set.(use the manual,it describes this thoroughly). And the idle screw if there is one And be sure your kicking it properly,if you dont kick my cr 250 jst right ,yyoull kick it all day and no start, but kick it right itll fire the first time. If none of that works i would make sure the carbs are clean and properly jetted.Lower compression engines are harder to start. I would say making sure your using the proper starting procedure too, like using the choke and dont hit the gas.My manual (87 250)says never hit the gas when trying to start while the choke is on.

Hey my 86 suzuki 250R is the same way alot of the times it faules the plug out. Its really hard to start when its cold but once its warmed up it starts with one or 2kicks sometimes 4kicks. But when its cold its a bear to get started. I dont know fi its just how these quads are or not but idk my friends was hard to start also.
