Default Dirt Bike vs. Quads

Bikes in my opinion are way more fun. (motocross) But after a few bad spills and being under the knife a couple times, the advantages of quads start to shine through. Quads are much more practical and useful but in my opinion bikes are more fun and MUCH faster in ALLMOST every circumstance.

P.S. also as far as bikes goes....."cause the chicks dig it!"

i am faster in the woods on my cr250 then on my z, i even find it easyer to go through mud.. only because there are atv ryts that caise my z's swingare to get hung up.

i am planing on selling my cr or trading it for another atv though.
I disagree, bikes are much more stable at higher speeds. I'd rather be doing 70 down the road on an mx bike than on a sport quad.

Default Dirt Bike vs. Quads

Well, I have owned and raced both... and both are unique experiences... (See other threads in kids section same subject) One of the big differences is safety... The argument was that dirt bikes are safer.. and I can see their points.. Typically, when crashing a dirt bike, the rider tends to get away from the bike.. whereas when you crash a quad, the body tends to travel in the same path as the ATV, and that is where you get the crushing injuries from. Stats wise, you can't always go by the numbers, because ATV's are on everybody's view screen and are reported in every media around, whereas a dirt bike accident would be page 10 news.

You need to also consider the environment where you will be doing the majority of your riding.. it will have a major effect on one or the other.. Plus, mix in a little rain or mud, and the bike will slide around and be a handful to control compared to the ATV which really gets to be a lot of fun going slideways...

Lastly, you need to consider what your friends all ride. If they ride dirt bikes, then get a dirt bike... If they ride ATV's get an ATV. You don't want to stand out in a crowd like that. Best thing to do, is work some overtime, so you can buy one of each.

I would rater ride a bike. But I have a weakness for going fast and big. After breaking my back it proved to myself I'm not the best rider. I now ride a quad. + I love to hillshoot. they are a little safer and slow down when you want them to. (Irode a cr500) Lol.

I really enjoy the challenge of riding bikes, and I really enjoy a trail ride with the family on quads. It's all about apples and oranges, cats and dogs, Ford VS Chevy. Pick one or 10, get good at riding, have fun trade it have some more fun.
