Default Need help figuring out year for LT250R

When i bought my Lt250R, i was told it was a 89, Wehn i ordered my parts for my top end rebuild, they used the numbers off the old piston to get the new one, but they said the number was for a 87 piston, i never thought much of it till i tired to put my new reeds in yesterday, the reeds were MUCH too small, the reeds that wre in my bike are held in by 4 screws and the ones i got only need 3, and when i rebuilt my top end it came with a new gasket for the intake, it didnt match my intake, had less bolts if i remember correctly. Does this mean i have a 87 top end???? Any help would be appreciated.

its a good thing performace wise! The 87 has bigger intake = more power. the bad part not much after market reed setups for it but that is ok.

Don't need any aftermarket reed setups for the '87 anyhow... the stockers work great! Needs a spacer block though to uncover the boost port some... keep fresh reeds in it, and you'll be in good shape

Actually it already has the spacer, I'm telling ya, whoever had this bike before me built it ***** to the wall, It surprises me with what i find everytime i work on it... If only he would have maintained the rest of the bike the same way.
