Default Does a pipe make a difference?

How much difference does a pipe, jetting, and filter make power-wise on a suzuki Z250? Is it even worth spending that much money? should I get a slip-on or a full system and whats the most popular filter for it right now? I think I'll take it to the dealer for jetting changes, I really dont want to mess with that myself.

piping and jetting makes a lot of difference you'll feel the power increase
get a full exhaust and K&N makes a good filter

Hey ElectricShift, a pipe and jet kit makes a big difference if it is done right. Those are really the only performance parts you can do on a z250! I would say go with a full system if your going to jet the carb!!! Also the best filter for the z250 is the twin air!!! I don't believe that they make a k&n filter for the z250 only for the z400. What kind of pipe are you looking into. The powe wise from pipes are great and you get an amazing amount of low end power (great for wheelies on the z250 because of the light front) and also it pulls stronger thoughout the mid and top end too!!! I would also take it to a dealer for the jetting changes. As you can see i have a full system on my quad and the jet kit in my quad was done by my local dealer!!! I always do everything on my quad myself but i did not want to mess that up. It runs great and is a hell of a lot faster, the Dg Xccelerator has a great amount of power in that pipe and i wonder what that pipe would be like on a z250. But if noise is a concern be warned it loud, but sound nice!!!!!!

If you compare dyno charts of full system vrs silencer only you will see that the silencer only combined with stock head pipe outperforms the full system from idle all the way up to about 80% of redline and then it falls slightly behind the full system. So for nearly all types of riding other than running at redline you are better off with silencer only on any 4 stroke.
Regarding filter, a K&N flows more air than foam but without question will also pass more fine dirt particles into your motor. So the only time you should consider a K&N is for 100% sand riding where the particles are too large to pass thru K&N. If you ride in fine dust areas only consider a good foam and you cannot beat twin-air.
