what is the average top speed of a STOCK 87 LT500R. becuase everyone always used to say they go like 85 and 90 stock. but mine goes 75 and think that everyone has been just BS'in and overhyping it

 

Everything is BSed and overhyped online. 75 is in the ball park in reality. Maybe a few mph slow but that could be a lot of little things. You may not have measured your speed with 100% acuracy. Even worn tires can make a few mph difference.

 

If he put 20's on his quad will it go slower on top end, Hes got 22's right now

 

He says his quad will go faster because it doesnt got enough power to handle those tires because his gearing is a 13 40 and then with the 22s lol hes funny

 

Go 14/38 with your gearing.

 

I clocked my 89 Zilla at just over 90mph with my friend's jetta. could have been off by a few MPH but in that ballpark. I have a DG exaust , new reeds, and a twinair filter with no airbox lid but thats it on engine mods.

 

Why is top speed always an issue? I just don't get it....

i mostly ride on a paved road near my house and just punch it along ways, going relly fast on a small machine, thats how i get my rush

 

I ride in the woods and fields most of the time but it is fun topping out your machine I think. I dont care if other peoples are faster I just like knowing how fast I got my machine to go

 

i have an 90 zilla it has 603 big bore kit ,vforce reeds,k@n air filter, no air box,toomeys t2silencer and t5 pipes,mikuni racing carb jetted for 600cc,cool head 32cc dome, i was clocked at 90 in 4th im only 15 and that is plenty fast for me. cant wait to bring it to the glamis dunes
