Im thinking about buying a 1990 LT250R, and i was wondering if you guys could tell me if there are are and problem areas to watch out for on the quads. How reliable are the LT250R's?

As long as its an '87-up, it'll be fine. Swingarms are not as big a problem as 85-86 models, but as with any quad if you want to seriously race it at pro-type level you'd change it anyway. They are pretty dern reliable, if you have it jetted correctly, use good premix oil, and maintain it properly. The biggest reason people say lt's are unreliable is they abuse the quad, and dont do ANY maintainence. Odds are you'll love an LT.

I've owned my '92 for about a month and everytime I ride it I can't believe how well it performs. I think the suspension rides like a cadillac and with my new FMF pipe the mid range is unbelievable. If it's in good shape, you won't be disappointed.
