88 ZILLA ONLY SILENCER,WHICH OCTANE FUEL IS BEST TO RUN, WHICH BEST OIL TO MIX AND BEST RATIO?THANKS A BUNCH GUYS

 

Mine was an '89 with a pipe and silencer. I ran 92 octane with a 50:1 ratio using Klotz oil. Never fouled a plug in 13 years.

 

50:1 wow I'd didn't think that was recomended. What oil were you using. I was always told 32:1 to 35:1. but hey I guess if it didn't lock up it must work.

 

I run spectro synthetic blend 36:1 with premium gas and since i got my new carb jetted right I havent fouled a plug yet.

 

WOW!! I run mid-grade and Klotz syntec blend at 20:1.....No wonder I foul plugs while putty-chuggin'!!! But that's okay, I like the smell and the smoke, even if the people behind me do not[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

you will run a lot better if you lean that mixture out some. 20:1 is waay to rich for the quality of purification and processing that oil goes through

 

believe it or not,i have the service manuel and it says proper mixture is 20:1 thats what i just read

 

Thats what was reccomended back in 1987-1990. Oils of today are much better.

 

Manual calls strictly for " Multi-grade Oil at a 20:1 Ratio Only" But i run at 42:1

 

I am running VP race gas C12 at 40:1 and my zilla rips! Oh yeah I am also using Maxima full synthetic oil. I used to think that 32:1 was better until I tried the C12 at 40:1 WOW! what a diff.
