I recently just purchased a ltz250 and so far i love it. I have been reading about guys removing the air box lid, and adding a performance filter. My question is this:
What kind of improvements will I see by removing my air box lid? Power top or low end? etc?
Also, by removing the lid, do I run any risks of damaging anything?
One more thing, if I *** a performance slip on muffler only, will I notice more snap in the bottom end?

It will give you more power because there is more air going to the engine. However, it wont run very well because they already come a little lean from the factory. So adding more air will make it more lean. Also, there will be a lot more dust getting into the engine. So if you ride in dusty areas, dont take off the lid. Yes a slip on will give it more snap but not as much as a full system.

Maybee in the future, when your looking for more power, you can Purchase a Clamp On filter, this elliminates the airbox all to gether. I reccoment using a UNI filter, not a K&N if you do this because UNI filters alot better and is just as free-flowing. Also put a Outawear on the filter so it will help block dirt. Nice quad and good luck.
