Default 03 Eiger Transmission questions.

I have a 2003 Eiger 400 4x4 5 speed manual. The transmission seems to function fine and I'm overall pretty satisfied with the quad accept with the lack of top end. I was wondering if there was an aftermarket conversion or anything to convert it to an automatic. Or if there was anyone that might want to trade or compare top end numbers. I only get like 50 mph with quite a bit of rpm's 45 comfortably. Is this all it's capable of or does anyone have any advice. Also I was looking at putting some more agressive tires on like 26" mudlites or 589's would the manual then be a better choice. I have test ridden a lot of automatic's lately and after being aprehensive when I bought mine on past opinion of automatics now am questioning my decision to have bougt the manual.

If you search these forums it seems that the general rule is that the 5-speed has a little more punch and top end as compared to the automatic. Nothing drastic, just a little. There was a thread on here within the last few days where most Eiger owners were reporting low 50's as a top speed. If you get "only" 50, it could be any number of small things - from set up of the engine, tire pressure, temperature, or even a faulty speedometer.

I reccommend Quadworks Stage 1 kit... Now your gas milage will suffer some for it, but your butt will like it more... VrooM!
