Should I upgrade from stock dunlops
#1
Hey all, as some of you know I have a 2004 ltz250, just got it a month ago. I recently just installed a White Bros E2 slip on, and I love the results.
I am debating on new tires for it, My stock dunlops are in great shape, but I have been thinking about getting a set of Razrs for the back at least. I have a few questions though.
1) Upgrading to razrs, will it give me more power, I know that sound dumb, but will I get more traction resulting in better wheelies, faster acceleration, etc.
2) Is it ok if I put new razrs on the back, and leave my front stock for now?
3) Also if I put new tires on the front would it be wise to drop down to a 21X7 tre rather than the stock 22?

Well, it depends. I would reccomend getting Holeshot XCR's or Razrs 2 for long lasting performance. In sand you will notice harder acceleration do to increased grip, along with better handling. If you get the tires all around, it will make your quad handle a whole lot better. I would stick with the stock size tire, it was that size for a reason. Plus it looks cool. its bigger in the front, because you want the front tires to grab, and your back end slide. Its fine to just put backs on. Good luck.

Yes but not all 22's are the same size,Or any tires for that matter. It's gonna depend on the manufacturer.EXAMPLE: My KENDA xc 21x7x10 is actually around 20.2 and my rear KENDA xc 20x11x9 is 20.6;The KENDA GNARLY rear 20x11x9 is 19.8.Look at the tire diameters carefully.

Though to answer the original thread poster, I would buy new tires when you need them. stock tires work excellent, and if you have money to toss around on tires you don't need, why not throw it on a new filter, or nerfs/bumper/bars..
