Default Warn 2.5ci Winch Eiger Problem

I just purchased a Warn 2.5ci Winch kit with roller fairlead, contactor, and mount for my 2003 Eiger 400 4x4 Manual. I installed in like the directions said and it seems to go in when i press in and out when i press out on the rocker switch. However after installing it I went out to test it and hooked it to the back of my half ton truck's receiver and proceeded to winch it in but it goes for maybe 10 feet if it is neutral with no brake applied then it like bogs or acts like it is slipping. If you put any load on it like apply the brake or anything you cannot move it at all it just bogs down. Is this normal or am I expecting too much? I mainly purchased it because the electric lift on my cycle country plow was slow and weak. Thanks in advance.

If the free-spool/lock isn't engaged all the way-maybe!!-it would cause that problem-doubtful though. Check to make sure your cable isn't all wound to one side of your spool. If it is, it could be crushing it self/binding up against the cross braces or fairlead. Can you spool all of the cable (except for the advised 5 wraps) then pull it back in with no load? If not, take that mother back-something is internally screwed.
