Default Jeting Qusetions??

Hey Guy's,

My stepdad bought a Z-400, he put a yoshi slip-on on it, I'm going to put a UNI air filter on it and re-jet it, most of the riding will be done at Dumont, so my qustion is what size of jet, what type of jet do they use, where should the needle and air screw be set. I have the DS down pretty good just have not been into the Z yet and want to get it close the first time. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Tom

I ride the same places as you, Dumont and Teagle Wash(Trona). I had my Z on the dyno and ended up with a 155 main, 25 pilot, needle on the 3rd clip, but I can't remember what the mixture screw is at. That's with the lid off, Uni filter w/Outerware, and a MBRP slip-on.......

edit: Thats with DJ main and needle.

that seems a little lean. If thats what makes it run right then our pipes must be quite a bit different. I run a 170 mikuni

We ran the air fuel on the dyno with a 160 DJ, stock pilot and I was lean off the bottom/mid, and fat up top. Guy says to drop one on the main and go up one on the pilot. We'll see when I run it again? Also, Mikuni jets are alot different than Dynajets.......

What type of jets are you runnin' Mucky?

More times than not people are runnin' a bigger main than neccesary(not refering to you in particular Mucky) Unless the dyno is way off I'm gonna try to trust it and the guy who was runnin' it....
