Did removing the spark arrestor make any difference to the performance of the quad, is it worth doing?

 

I couldnt tell anything, just made it a little louder.

 

Well it's free, so try it. It does give it a sportier sound, but nothing like a performance exhaust would, which to me is ok. Performance wise, it can't do much without proper jetting, but it didn't slow it down any thats for sure. I'll probably leave mine out except for USFS riding.

 

you all will notice if you look for it that it revs a little quicker and has a smidge better top end pull with it out. I think it sounds perfect and I am actually a little worried that a new exhaust would not sound the same.

 

has anyone cut that little wire mesh part off of the end cap and put it back in? will it still sound the same? I like the way it sounds, but I hate the way it looks without the stock end cap in there.

 

all that is is the spark arrestor part of the baffle. the rest is the thing that alters the sound.
