Hello all,
I am considering getting an Eiger. It appears that the Eiger has many satisfied customers and is considered to be an excellent buy. When looking at the manufacturers specs a tow rating is not given. This stikes me as a little odd considering most other manufacturers do. Does the Eiger have a ball hitch on the rear, and is it centrally located on the axle?

 

Yes it does. the ball mounts like any other quad. Just pulled my ice shack to the lake shore the other day. No problems.

 

Think I just found a picture of the rear end of a 2002 model. Has a really beefy rear axle and two shocks. Are the 2005 models built the same way? Looks like a good hauler.

 

Evertime I tow one out of a hole it tows pretty good,,,,, hahhahahahhahah

Funny guy, Atvs are like boats, They all get towed at sometime.

 

i have towed a lot with my Eiger...a Van...guess it don't really count as it has wheels..but i pulled it...trees, brush, atv's out of mud

 

Ive got an 03 manal and towed a 2-wheel utility trailer with 116 concrete blocks. im sure that exceeded the manufacterers suggested rating but that should give you an idea of the capabilities of the eiger(roughly 2 1/2 ton)

 

I had mine for one week and got wifes 4x4 p/u stuck( not smart it was only one week old too ) and happened to have the Eiger in the back, long story short, yes it will tow and I have used mine as a cat and skidder the only time it won't go is when ther isn't enough traction. Happy trails.

 

If all you wanna do is haul stuff get yourself a john deere gator, we just got one its about the same price as an eiger I think. My brother got his dodge dakota stuck in my yard on christmas eve and the gator pulled it right out of there.

 

True but what if you want to use it for trails, then you would be out of luck.
