Cams only on Z400...tell me how they worked.
#1
Anyone that installed mid range cams ONLY on thier Z400, tell me if you liked the results, and what differences it made. I need to adjust the valves on mine, and was considering swapping out the stockers for a pair of HotCams at the same time. Don't want to pull the top end apart to change gaskets, pistons, of valve springs at this time. (I kind of want the same or better performance that the new upgraded '05 Z400 has) Let me know. Thanks.

Cams alone will not give any more power you have to put a piston in it. I put both cams in and there was no differance but when i put the piston in,it runs great. I run a 13:5.1 with 110 octane. I live in louisiana and would be happy to install your cams and i have a shem kit with every shem. let me know yyzgup@netzero.com good luck.

I have heard different, I have a bud who rides one, he installed a Yoshi pipe/K&N/ Jets, he said it was good but wanted more, so he went ahead and hot hot cams, and since the Z is double cam, it is said to give you some HP, don't really know if it's true but seems fine to me.

You'll definitely find the rev limiter sooner.I would look into a rev box to go along with the cams.My Z definitely pulls harderwith them.I'm not going to get into a debate over horsepower so I'll leave it at that.
