Default z250 vs. 250ex conversion

would it be cheaper to convert a z250 to a chain driven manual than a 250ex

i dont even know if it would be possible 1, and 2 is prolly a big waste of money, for that much you are gonna spend on fab and time, do it up right and get a z-400 or other sport bike.

I agree. Don't waste your time and money. Just get a bigger bike right away.

I'd definately have to agree with the other guys. I haven't paid much attention to the 250EX rear end, but I know for the Z250 you would have to make a completly new rear swingarm. Also you would need to take the tranny apart and get custom made covers and gears made for it. That would cost you into the thousands. With the money for the mods, you could probably buy a pretty decent used Z400.

that is im sorry to say, retarded, the only way, if i was to do it, i would get a chain drive- maunual clutch motor, and a regular swing arm and do it that way

Bubba, dont go disrespecting people in these forums, especially since you haven't been in here enough to gain respect yourself.

Bubba actually has a good idea with that motor and swingarm. He gave his opinion, is there something wrong with that? He never said there was something wrong with the person but the idea.

Yeah, it would be a cool idea but it would probably take just as much time and money, if not more, to do that. Like suzukiz250kid siad, just get a used z400 or something like that.

Why would you want a manuel clutch, chain drive 250 anyway? If your going to go through that much trouble to modify it, why don't you just get a 400? Just curious what you were thinking.
