Default 92 LT250R wont shift...

My quad wil not shift for some reason, I thought it was my clutch but now im not for sure because i removed the clutch and basket and it still dont shift into and out of gear. I was looking at the fork taht is connected to the shift shaft and it doesnt look like its touching any other gears to make it shift. So I tried pushing the shift shaft back a little bit but that still didnt work. And the spring on the shaft is on there the right way so I cant figure out why it wont shaft. Has this happened to any one else by chance. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

It wouldnt barely release at all. Awhile ago I had the clutch off and when I reinstalled it I think i tightened my clutch springs to tight or something because when I pulled in the clutch I could still give it gas and it would accelerate. Just after that I started losing gears(it wouldnt shift into certain gears but it would others)then it quit shifting all together. So I shut it off and couldnt get it to start after that. Well last night when I removed the clutch cover and the clutch basket agian to see what was up, I noticed the gears on the back side of the clutch basket was rough. I was looking at a microfiche and noticed that I didnt remeber seeing this spacer that it showed that went inside the clutch basket. But the bearing inside the basket was fine.

without the spacer it wont release all the way and that will cause you to have shifting problems...put the spacer back in and check out thge clutch and go from there..
