Z250 hard to start

Default Z250 hard to start

Leaving it on primer while you ride is not bad at all. In fact leaving it on primer gives the carb a constant supply of fuel which can be good. But leaving it on primer is a bad idea when its shut off because it can flood the float bowl. A tip on how to determine how to set the idle screw is to turn it in until it stalls then 1/2 to full turn out. Make sure it is not idleing two high because if the idle is too high it could be causing the auto clutch to be constantly dragging and slipping because it is trying to actuate. Think about it, the motor doesnt know if your starting to hit that thumb throttle or if just the idle screw is set too high.

hey BrocksZ after reading i guess its alright to leave it on while riding but my friend told me that it would flood the carb if i left it on. he might have been talking about when it wasnt running tho.
